A belt conveyor is a system of motorized (powered) pulleys with a continuous strip of material--the conveyor belt--that rotates around the pulleys. The pulleys move the belt forward, along with any material on it.

Some sources use 'conveyor belt' and 'belt conveyor' interchangeably.
